About Us - My Story
I have always been passionate about dogs and providing them with the care, love, and attention they deserve. My journey to launching Paws and Play began with a diverse career path that shaped my skills and dedication to helping others. After college, I quickly progressed into management roles within the retail sector, developing valuable organisational and people skills. This was followed by administrative positions in London's financial industry. Following a career break to raise my children, I found myself drawn to work within my community, spending 8 rewarding years at my children’s primary school.
During this time, I also rediscovered my love for caring for dogs, by helping friends with their dog-walking business. Balancing this alongside my part-time role at the school, I spent seven wonderful years forming meaningful connections with both the dogs and their owners - an experience I truly cherished. When my friends decided to part ways, they entrusted me with some of my favourite clients - an incredible gesture that inspired me to take the leap.
In January 2024, I proudly launched Paws and Play, offering professional dog walking and pet care services in the Northfleet area. Your dog's happiness and well-being are my top priorities. I treat every dog as a member of my own family, providing personalised care and attention. I'd be delighted to welcome you and your furry companion to the Paws and Play family!
Why Small Groups?
To ensure the safest and most enjoyable experience for every dog in my care, I've chosen to specialise in small group walks, typically with just one, two, or three dogs per group. Since I begin my walks directly from clients' doorsteps, this approach allows me to manage each walk safely and effectively without driving.
More importantly, I believe smaller groups offer significant benefits for the dogs themselves. They receive more individual attention and interaction from me, fostering a stronger bond and allowing me to better understand their unique needs and personalities.
Smaller groups also minimize the stress and potential for conflict that can sometimes arise in larger packs. This more intimate setting allows dogs to socialise and play in a relaxed and comfortable environment, creating a much more positive and enriching walking experience. It's all about ensuring each dog feels happy, safe, and cherished on every walk.
